Apply for 2026 VMC Youth Vocal Scholarship
Vancouver Master Chorale is pleased to announce that our 2026 Vancouver Master Chorale Youth Vocal Scholarship Competition will be held on February 25, 2026, 7 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 4300 Main St., Vancouver, WA 98663.
Prizes
The winner of the Scholarship will receive $1,500 to further their vocal studies and will perform as our guest at our May 16 and May 17 concerts. The second-place winner will receive $750.
Requirements
To be eligible to compete for these prestigious vocal awards, an applicant must be a high school student (public, private, or homeschool) enrolled in SW Washington or the Portland Metropolitan area.

In submitting an application and recordings, applicants are also committing to the following schedule should they receive the First Place Scholarship award:

Our concerts on May 16 and May 17 will feature works by composers from the Pacific Northwest and around the world. These concerts will be an exceptional opportunity for the Scholarship Winner to showcase their talent.
Competition Pieces
Applicants are required to prepare two pieces. The first must be from the classical art song repertoire (including Lieder, classic American folksongs, Italian art songs, English art songs, French chansons, arias from opera or oratorio). The second selection can be from musical theater repertoire. Popular contemporary songs are not allowed. Any language, including English, is acceptable.
Please submit recordings of audition pieces in MP3, MP4, or YouTube video format, along with a headshot, to youth-scholarship@vancouvermasterchorale.org and submit an online application (please see below) by Feb 20, 2026.
The pieces submitted with the application must be the same pieces performed during the audition.
Applicants selected for auditions must provide their own accompanist. No recordings will be allowed.
