Jana Hart

Music Director

Jana Christianson Hart has had a long musical history. Having a conductor for a father, who headed the orchestral program at CSU Northridge, she grew up on the concert stage singing as a young member of the opera chorus. Jana went on to sing opera, studying and touring with the renowned Dr. John Alexander, and singing with Santa Fe Opera and Long Beach Opera.

Jana has conducted choirs and orchestras in both California and Washington. Her tenure at Vancouver Master Chorale, beginning in 2010, has been marked with a thirst for adventurous programming, including the world premiere of Mollicone’s All God’s Children – a work written specifically for her, and the US premiere of Benedict Sheehan’s ravishing interpretation of A Christmas Carol.

Jana fosters young singers, teaching voice at Lower Columbia College, as well as privately, in addition to her work with Vancouver Master Chorale.
