VMC Wardrobe Guidelines

Wardrobe guidelines for our concerts. Please adhere to them. No short skirts. No bare shoulders.

• Black dress, or skirt/top—full length or mid-calf with long sleeves or at least 3/4 length sleeve.
• We have added pants for women this year. Make sure they are dressy and absolutely no leggings or skinny jeans!
• Opaque black stockings, black closed-toe shoes. No white soles.
• Single strand short pearl necklace & pearl earring studs.
• Make-up is very acceptable for our concerts and, in fact, encouraged to add some color and sparkle to our appearance as stage lights really wash out our faces.

• Black tuxedo or black slacks/jacket
• Black bow tie/cummerbund [Normal Concert Dress]
• Red bow tie/cummerbund [Winter Concert Dress]
• White shirt with fold down collar
• Black shoes/socks. No white soles.

Black folders. A simple plain black (not glossy) 3-ringed binder can be purchased at Office Depot, Target, Fred Meyer etc. There are also numerous sites online where you will find all kinds of folders for holding music. If you decide to order a premium leather folder with plenty of helpful features, just keep in mind that they are really quite heavy to stand with for a long performance and can be rather large and cumbersome. However, they look great.
